Kristin M. Furnish, is partner at CAYPE US, PLLC, in Austin, Texas. She has more than 25 years of cross-border experience representing business clients large and small in both the United States and Latin America.

Ms. Furnish represents U.S. and Latin American entrepreneurs, investors and businesses on matters in the United States and cross border.

Fluent in Spanish, she lived and worked in Mexico City for more than 15 years and was the Legal Director for Corporate and International affairs for a large Mexican company with projects across Latin America.

She has taught undergraduate- and graduate-level courses at the law schools of the Universidad Iberoamericana and the Universidad Autónoma de Mexico (UNAM), both in Mexico City. Currently, she is a Nonresident Scholar, McNair Center for Entrepreneurship and Economic Growth at the Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy.  She has also been a regular speaker on anti-corruption and ethics for compliance programs internationally.

Education

Ms. Furnish holds a J.D from The University of Texas School of Law and a B.A. in political economy from Tulane University and has also studied at the Instituto Panamericano de Alta Dirección de Empresa (IPADE) in Mexico City.
