José Alberto Limón G. is Of Counsel at CAYPE Abogados, his practice focuses in the area of Industrial Property in matters related to inventions. He has specialized in prior art searches, analysis and technical opinions (patentability, validity, freedom to operate), patent drafting, as well as filing and prosecution of patents, utility models and industrial designs both in Mexico and abroad. Alberto has reviewed the patentability of about two hundred inventions from different technological fields and coordinated patent portfolios of more than two thousand five hundred files

He collaborates closely with national and international companies, universities, research centers and independent inventors, evaluating and designing the best strategy for the protection and management of their intangible assets.

Prior to joining the firm, he worked at Becerril, Coca & Becerril, S.C. as a patent engineer specialized in technology protection and at AVAFIRM, S.C. as a senior associate in charge of the technical division of the Patent area.

Education

Alberto holds a degree in Mechanical Electrical Engineer from Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (2009), graduated with an honorable mention of excellence. He has completed various courses and seminars on Industrial and Intellectual Property imparted by Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México,  Instituto Mexicano de la Propiedad Industrial and the Organización Mundial de la Propiedad Intelectual.
